Ingredients

  • 24 ounces frozen homestyle meatballs(about 1.5 lbs)
  • 4 cups broccoli florets(fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce(low sodium preferred)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar(packed)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic(minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger(grated)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water(cold)

    Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the frozen homestyle meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until heated through and slightly browned.

    While the meatballs are baking, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, and grated fresh ginger in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer.

    In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water to make a slurry. Stir the slurry into the simmering sauce and cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.

    Steam the broccoli florets in a steamer basket over boiling water for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp.
